CELTIC FROST Frontman Comments On North American Tour Kick-Off
September 13, 2006Swiss metal pioneers CELTIC FROST launched their North American assault last night (Sept. 12) at West Springfield, Virginia's Jaxx. Commenting on the first of the venue's two shows, vocalist/guitarist Tom Gabriel Fischer had this to say, "The commencement of our first North American tour in 17 years couldn't have been more fitting and symbolic. The aura of the concert, and our audience's reaction, surpassed even what we experienced during the recent string of European festival appearances. It was also a huge honor for us to perform for former CELTIC FROST drummer Reed St. Mark, who came down from his hometown of New York to see us. Reed was instrumental in crafting the music that has made this band what it is. One of our fans later expressed that our generosity was worth everything. But we felt that it was the audience's generosity which made the five-year struggle to release a new album and bring our band back on the road over here truly worthwhile." The band will be performing in New York City for the next two nights, Sept. 14-15, for shows at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill. VIP ticket holders will have the opportunity to meet the band after the show. For those who have already purchased regular tickets and would like to upgrade to the VIP ticket package (that will allow you to stay for the meet-and-greet),please contact the ticket office through which you made your original purchase.
While in New York City, CELTIC FROST will be stopping by MTV's studios to record their "Headbanger's Ball" interview that will air nationally on Sept. 30. Also airing with the interview will be the video for "A Dying God Coming To Human Flesh" from the band's new album, "Monotheist".
